Minneapolis, Minn -- Minneapolis City SC announce the signing of two new players for the coming season, Minnesotans Matthew Gweh and Abdallah Bah.

"These are two of the most talented, hardest working players and good guys on and off the pitch, and both are big pick-ups for us" said head coach Keith Kiecker.

Matthew Gweh, from Apply Valley and Minnesota's Gatorade Player of the Year in 2012, just finished his junior year at Valparaiso where he finished as second leading scorer for the Crusaders.

"Matthew gives us some hard choices to make tactically" said coach Jeremy Iwaszkowiec "in a good way. We have a lot of talented attackers. Getting the most out of them is going to be a lot of fun."

Abdallah Bah, who grew up in Osseo, is a ball-playing defender in the Rio Ferdinand mould. He plays his college ball at Post University in Connecticut.

"He's such a smooth player, so confident on the ball, always in the right position" said Kiecker.

Anonymous donors who support the club's mission of creating affordable opportunities for every local kid to play organized, high-level soccer has generously offered to house Matthew and Abdallah during the season.

"It's fantastic that people in the community are supporting our mission in such a major way. Every little bit counts as we work to make a difference" said club Chairman Dan Hoedeman.

City have now signed nine players as they prepare for the 2016 Premier League of America season, which kicks off on May 21 in Milwaukee against Bavarian Soccer Club.
