Minneapolis, MN -- Minneapolis City are proud to announce their new home stadium beginning in 2017: Edor Nelson Field at Augsburg College.

Located on the West Bank, the cozy 1,500 seat stadium boasts a central location, and public transport links including the Blue and Green Line LRT, bus and bike. More importantly, the excellent turf pitch plays to the team's strengths, unlike last year's home.

"With the situation at Les Barnard deteriorating from where it was last year, we had no choice but to look to a new location" said Business Director Sarah Schreier "and we couldn't be happier with Augsburg. A great Minneapolis location, a school that shares our mission to improve the Minneapolis community, and a playing surface that is wider, flatter and faster than last year."

"It was critical that we improved the field" said Sporting Director Jon Bisswurm. "The Barnyard was an equalizer, and unfortunately it equalized other teams to us. We had a much better record away from home despite our rabid home support, but that won't happen this year."

The location allows for a much better gameday atmosphere as well, with tailgating available across the street at Murphy Square Park and at Lot L, the main stadium's main parking lot. It is walking distance from the bars and restaurants of Cedar-Riverside. And the availability of lights means games can be player later in the evening.

Tailgating is available in Murphy Square Park (across 23rd Ave) and in Lot L.
