BIOGRAPHY
Wes Lorrens moved to Minnesota in 2019, fell in with Stegman’s SC, and at that point it was only a matter of time before he joined Minneapolis City. Lorrens was a key part of the 2021 team that made the UPSL National Semifinal, though injury prevented him from playing in the playoffs. Still, it was he and his dog who were memorably noticed by the play-by-play crew after City’s dramatic penalty shootout win over Iowa Raptors in the Regional Final.
Lorrens a season at Virginia Military Institute, recording the most minutes as a freshman, before transferring to St. Thomas. There, the 6’2″ centerback had been a key contributor and even chipped in with the equalizing and winning goals in the overtime win against Kansas City in 2021.
